Cow Poo Slice

This is what I ended up with when I was trying to make muesli bars at home. Then I added chocolate on top because chocolate makes almost everything better.

It’s quite rich but a tasty energy booster when everyone’s been flat out branding calves or running around the yards. It’s a staple here for cattle work and I’m pretty sure some would go on strike if it was missing.

The name came courtesy of a niece who was here when I was collecting and drying cow poo for NIRS (Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy) testing, to determine what nutritional value the cattle were getting from their diet. She thought they looked similar. Further post on dung sampling in the not too distant future.

In the meantime, happy cooking
